O zicala scandinava spune ca “un copil iubit are multe nume” (a beloved child has many names). Lucrurile par sa stea exact pe dos cand vine vorba despre zahar. Are foarte multe nume, vreo 60 ca sa fim mai exacti insa este el un copil “iubit”?

Toata lumea stie si este constienta ca nu e bine sa consumam bauturi carbogazoase, produse de patiserie, dulciuri etc deoarece contin zahar.
Insa cat de multi stiu ca majoritatea produselor existente pe piata romaneasca, procesate, contin si ele zahar, sub diverse alte denumiri?

Zahar, fructoza, dextroza, sirop de porumb, maltodextrina, caramel, zahar brun, zahar de cocos, muscovado, sirop de artar, sirop de orez, dextran, lactoza, sirop de malt sunt doar cateva dintre “numele” zaharului.

Pate-urile, produsele de carmangerie, iaurturile “naturale” cu 0% grasimi, cerealele pentru micul dejun, muesli, batoanele energetice, painea, mustarul, ketchup-ul, mancarurile pentru bebelusi, sosurile tip barbeque sau cele pentru salate etc. Aproape toate alimentele procesate contin zahar adaugat, intr-una din formele sale.

Nu este de mirare ca in ciuda faptului ca incercam sa mancam mai sanatos si suntem atenti (credem noi) la cantitatea de zahar pe care o ingeram, nu obtinem rezultatele pe care la dorim. Una dintre categoriile de oameni afectati sunt persoanele ce sufera de diabet, carora consumul de zahar le afecteaza sanatatea la modul cel mai serios. O alta categorie este reprezentata de persoanele ce doresc sa slabeasca si care sunt pacalite de-a dreptul in a crede ca ele chiar au o alimentatie sanatoasa si echilibrata. Zaharul adaugat are efecte nocive asupra metabolismului, el fiind transormat in grasime in ficat, in timp putand duce la rezistenta la insulina si la boli metabolice.

Consumam cantitati mari de zahar fara sa constientizam acest lucru, iar producatorii din industria alimentara profita de gradul de necunoastere al populatiei prin folosirea diferitelor denumiri ale zaharului, incercand astfel sa-l ascunda de consumatori. Cititi intotdeauna etichetele!
